Last night (Sat 28th Jan) was the annual extravaganza that is Freds slide do, held at the Duke of Cumberland, one of the classic events of the Cumbrian birding calendar.
It was the usual enjoyable mix of birding & wildlife photos, tales, banter & the occasional pig sty thrown in for good measure !
I don't think I'll try to recreate the legendary banter here, but for those that were unable to attend or want to see the photos again at their leisure, I've uploaded my slideshow here or click on the photos below.

Woodland birds
A couple of photos from last weekend of Chaffinch & Coal Tit. Nothing rare, and the background is admitedly a little messy, but I thought the quality of the early morning light was very nice.

European White-fronted Geese
Visits to Ravenstown have produced circa 20 European White-fronts among 200 Grey Geese (Friday 13th Jan), and 52 European White-fronts among 400 Grey Geese (Saturday 14th Jan).
